Yiyang has seen a robust growth momentum in cross-border e-commerce market. In 2024, the number of Yiyang-based foreign trade enterprises with actual performance in cross-border e-commerce sector exceeded 30, spanning such fields as electronic information, new materials, biomedicine, food processing, building materials and home furnishings, and light industry and textiles. The annual cross-border e-commerce transaction volume reached approximately 800 million CNY, with B2B e-commerce exports surging by 300% year on year.

Yiyang has been promoting cross-border e-commerce from points to belts and has built specialized industrial parks. The Heshan District Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park, relying on its bamboo products produced in Nijiangkou Town, was designated as a provincial-level cross-border e-commerce industrial park (cultivation type) in 2023, and has cultivated 13 cross-border e-commerce businesses. The Nanxian County Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park has performed effectively in business attraction, with five enterprises already settled there. Yuanjiang City has leveraged its textile industry cluster to advance industrial transformation, where a number of textile and sports enterprises have expanded their business to the global markets through cross-border e-commerce.

Yiyang has adopted a new development model featuring "cross-border e-commerce + overseas warehouses + industrial clusters". Several Yiyang-based enterprises have set up overseas warehouses in the United States, Russia, Canada, and Southeast Asian countries, facilitating the entry of Yiyang's medical beauty devices, outdoor sports equipment, and footwear and apparel into international markets.

In 2024, Yiyang's commerce authority collaborated with tax, customs, and foreign exchange departments to launch cross-border e-commerce services, providing tailored support to key enterprises and resolving dozens of problems. It also dovetailed with platforms like Alibaba International, AliExpress, TikTok, and eBay, organizing over 300 cross-border e-commerce trainings for government departments and corporate staff. An array of Yiyang sellers have started up business on major cross-border e-commerce platforms, including Alibaba International, Made-in-China, AliExpress, Amazon, DHgate, and Shopee.
